Irene Lawrence (Di Gray Lady) is an artist who enjoys creating both images and crafts which relate to her enjoyment of life. She has worked in watercolor, acrylics, and oils as well as photography. Many of her subjects come from her own life experiences - she has traveled in 20 countries on 5 continents. Irene often chooses to use materials which are recycled to create useful and decorative upcycled items.
Recently Irene completed 2.5 years' volunteer service in the U.S. Peace Corps in Jamaica where she taught in very rural primary schools.
"I love to explore colors, shapes and emotions. My photographs give an instant in time a chance to build a lifetime of memories.
Sometimes a big space calls out to be entered. A blank wall, a wooded path, or an animal catches my eye and allows me to add some whimsy to my subject.
A bit of yarn, maybe some old tin cans or some sewing scraps can become useful and fun items. I enjoy adding color and shapes to everyday materials, and of course recycling instead of land filling."
