Sorry for the mistake. There may be more. Just feel free to let me know so I can correct it.
I, Francis Maynard,as a recently retired special education teacher with 30 years of experience, art was always my therapy. Originally from Michigan, with an inherited love for painting which came from my mother. For that I thank my mother. Using plywood panels that I cut to the size I need, my chosen subject is then drawn on the panel. Using oil paints, and mineral spirits - the tedious process of painting begins. After layer, upon layer is applied, blended, or removed, the painting has an end. Some paintings will be given crushed glass for affect. This glass comes from wine and beer bottles that I crush into the texture I need. My pieces are then sprayed with polyurethane to help preserve and protect the paint. I am a member of the Morristown Art Association. I participate in Arts in the Park , Mountain Makins, Grainger County Tomato Festival, Morristown Skymart Festival. I also volunteer my time helping with the young artist program at the Rose Center. My work can also be viewed on FaceBook : "Maynard Oil on wood." E-Mail: firstname.lastname@example.org.
